Red Stain Press exists for one reason: boys' love deserves publishers who read the genre, not just license it.
We started Red Stain Press because the books we loved most — the slow-burn office romances, the childhood-friends-to-something-more, the messy love triangles nobody asked for but everybody needed — kept getting treated as a niche add-on rather than a category worth building around. We wanted an imprint where BL is the whole point, not a side list.
RSP was founded by a 10-year veteran of the publishing industry, with experience across two of the Big 5 publishers. This is a gay-owned imprint by a longtime reader of the genre, with the goal of building a BL imprint from the ground up: our own catalog, our own relationships with artists and writers, and a submissions process designed for creators who've never worked with a publisher before.
We're not trying to be everything. We're trying to be the imprint you'd trust with your favorite trope.
Original graphic novels and licensed comics — in print and digitally. We work with creators at every stage, from first-time self-publishers to studios with an established fanbase.
